About the Author
Michael Malone is an award-winning writer and director specializing in comedy specials and emotionally resonant documentaries. Through his production company, Glass Hammer Productions, he’s redefined the look of stand-up specials, giving them a cinematic edge and emotional heartbeat. Now, Malone is turning his lens toward narrative dramedies that explore love, grief, and the absurd ways we try to connect.
"I make films about people doing their best with what’s broken. Comedy gave me permission to be honest, and honesty gave me permission to be funny. Whether I’m filming a comedian onstage or a couple falling apart, I’m chasing that same fragile heartbeat, the space where laughter and pain coexist."
Michael has also emerged as a prominent voice in the mental health space as the co-host of the popular podcast Secondhand Therapy, where humor and vulnerability are used to explore anxiety, relationships, and emotional survival.
